Future Trash
We are all familiar with trash. It is a major part of our daily lives. But what do you think trash in the future will look like? We are looking for artists to help us create “future trash”! These objects can vary in size, shape, and material. M+C will reimburse artists $25 for each piece.
Your ‘trash’ will live in a version of a downtown Cheyenne alley from the future where nature has started to take over. This alley leads to a mysterious business where you just may learn some of MC Wonder’s secrets. So think of things you would find that may be interesting to travelers passing through that would live in and around a strange dumpster from a mysterious future.
Alternative Wyoming
Wyoming is an inspiring place! But what if we were not constrained by space or time to describe this big, diverse state? Is there a version of Wyoming you have always wanted to explore? Maybe where the horses ride people? Or Wyoming as a highly populated futuristic technopolis? Perhaps there are no people at all? Artists participating in the “Alternative Wyoming” project will create a 12”x12”x12” diorama that will be prominently displayed in MC Wonder’s office. Artists will be reimbursed $100 for each diorama.
Dioramas will live in a collection of 12”x12” cubicles, so the piece will need to adhere to the dimension requirement. If you choose to use lighting or electricity, be sure to include a way for power to connect.
Your own concept
Have your own concept for a unique piece of art or experience? We always open to new and exciting items to add to MC’s collection small and large. Tell us about your concept and what kind of support you would need from us to pull it off. Don’t be afraid to think out of the box.

How do I submit?
To be considered for either “Future Trash” or “Alternative Wyoming”, please submit:
- a rough sketch or description of your idea,
- materials list, and
- a sample of your work.
Via email to [email protected] or the form below. Selections will be made on a rolling basis, first come, first serve.
When does it need to be done?
MC will be building his collection through the summer of 2023, we’d love to have your artwork as soon as possible to give visitors more time to experience but will be accepting pieces on a rolling basis.
I don’t live in Cheyenne, can I still participate?
Yes! However, we cannot pay for shipping, so your piece will need to hitch a ride to MC Wonder’s office.
What is MC Wonder?
MC Wonder is Cheyenne’s first immersive art installation located in the Asher Building at 500 W. 15th Street. The exhibit reflects the travels of Mr. MC Wonder as he traverses both time and space across Wyoming. As visitors move through the rooms they will get to interact and experience the remarkable characters and objects collected during MC Wonder’s travels.
Who are Makers + Creatives?
